Cross Country Comeback

   On September 8, 2026, the Dyersburg High School Cross Country team ran in Covington. Out of 15 receiving medals, two runners from DHS collected a medal- sophomores Nicolas Martin placing 7th and Kenneth Bonilla placing 14th. 

   “We have not had a runner medal in two years, so this was huge for these two sophomores and DHS Cross Country,”  Coach Marty Newsom said.

   Alongside Martin and Bonilla were Nolan Eno, placing 19th, and Owen Bona, placing 24th. All were in the top 24, meeting personal and team goals. 

    “I am so proud of all the runners kicking off  2026 with impressive performances and times. We lost two runners as our last season started, which knocked us out of team contention, so our runners are competing individually. They have accepted the challenge and hope to pick up a strong fifth leg runner soon and before next season,” Newsom said.
