On August 21, 2026, the Dyersburg Trojans opened their 2026 football season on the road. The Trojans faced their biggest rival, Dyer County–an away game on the Choctaw’s field.
Dyer County came out with a strong momentum, starting an offensive lead early in the game. The Trojans battled throughout the game, putting 20 on the board, but still lost, unable to overcome the Choctaw’s offense. Despite the efforts, the Trojans fell 42-20 to the Choctaws.
Although the season did not begin with the start desired, there is still a lot of football to play. The Trojans will bounce back this Friday, August 28, to take on the Brighton Cardinals.
