John David Morris traveled to Sevierville and competed in the TSSAA State Golf Tournament on October 9. He worked extremely hard to prepare for the state competition and stayed focused to be as ready as possible. Morris also competed in the state tournament last year, where he placed 17th as a sophomore. “This year there was a lot more tension and stress because I was going there to win it this year, and the year before was just for fun,” Morris said when asked about how these two years were different for him. He really enjoyed his time at the state and said he learned some new things about himself and his game.

“I could be a little more patient on the course and not get in my own head,” Morris said.

He said he didn’t play his best while he was there, but still was able to finish 8th in the state in his junior year and is looking forward to trying to make it back to the state next year. Congratulations, John David.
