Lady Trojans Volleyball Falls to Dyer County in Tough Match

On Thursday, August 28, the Lady Trojans Volleyball team played the Dyer County Choctaws at the Terry Glover Gymnasium. The Lady Trojans played a defense-heavy game throughout the sets. Junior Kate Meadows covered the back of the court, receiving serves from the Choctaws with ease. Despite their efforts, the Lady Trojans fell short in the first set with a score of 25-10.
The Lady Trojans continued their strong defense in the second set. Junior Murphy Mae Morgan controlled the net with strong blocks, preventing the Choctaws from scoring. Junior Avery Hinson gained points for the Lady Trojans with her powerful serves. Even with these strengths, the second set ended with a loss for the Lady Trojans with a score of 25-7.
The third set was filled with long-lasting rallies between the Lady Trojans and the Choctaws. Junior Bella Turnage and senior Taniyah Brooks scored points with their spikes, closing the gap between the teams’ scores. However, the Lady Trojans were unable to pull ahead and lost with a score of 25-19.
The Lady Trojans played hard but were unable to secure a win against the Dyer County Choctaws. The Lady Trojans play at the Terry Glover Gymnasium on Thursday, September 4, against the Crockett County Cavaliers.
