Lady Trojans Win District Finals

   On Thursday, October 16, DHS faced the South Gibson High School Lady Hornets at the soccer district final. The Lady Trojans secured the victory, professionally demonstrating valor and sportsmanship along the way.

   As the game started, the ball travelled back and forth, eventually favoring DHS. Sophomore Haddy Manneh scored two goals in the first half, setting the score for the rest of the half. When the girls came back from half-time, both teams played fiercely until time ran out, titling DHS as district champions. DHS invites everyone to attend the region semifinals on Tuesday, October 21, at the J.C. Sawyers Stadium.

Following the match, an award ceremony was held. Below are the awards and their respective recipients:

All-district: Kathleen Harrel, Haddy Manneh, Mallory McCaslin, Ava Winegardener, Meredith Zamzow

All-tournament: Grace Ann Webb, Mya Shelton, Maria Vasquez, Clara Serquina

Offensive player of the year: Haddy Manneh

Goalie of the year: Grace Ann Webb
