Struggling to get into the Halloween spirit? Trojan Torch has a guide for you.

First, finalize your costume. Whether you are still deciding or have run out of time to order online, DIYing your costume is a guaranteed way to make this Halloween memorable. Take pieces from your closet or go to a local clothing store to find the base for your costume; have fun creating the small details. This way, you can make your Halloween costume unique to your style and preferences.

Another key detail of Halloween is the candy. Don’t just run out by 7 pm. Grab a bag of mixed candies from any local grocery or convenience store nearby, especially the ones that contain treats like Snickers, M&M’s, Skittles, KitKats, etc. Store the candy in a cool place so it stays fresh and unmelted by the time trick-or-treaters arrive at the door.

Afterwards, bring out the decorations from the attic or an old storage closet. Set the scene with fake webs and skeletons along the porch and the front of your lawn, ensuring you always make sure to keep the walkways and steps clear of debris to avoid creating tripping hazards. Even if you do not have any decorations lying around, you can stop by any grocery store and pick up a few pumpkins for the family or friends and spend time carving them out together to create memories and spooky new additions to your doorsteps.

Lastly, plan out your night. If you have a child looking forward to trick-or-treating, look for local community events downtown or in The Farms to seek out the best chances for your child to have the best experience. Wear something glow-in-the-dark to ensure people can see you on the street, and keep your phone charged in case of emergencies. Planning these things allows for everyone to have a good time while maintaining safety.

With this guide, you will have a great holiday weekend with great memories to hold on to for years to come!
