On November 13, 14 and 15, 2025, DHS and DMS choir students participated in the 2025 All Northwest Honor Choirs. They practiced for many hours on Thursday and Friday, and their performances on Saturday exhibited the hard work they put into their rehearsals.
Students had to go through an audition process to be a part of the honor choir. On audition day, they had to sing one of five selections, consisting of three cuts of their six songs.
Students who made the choir were then able to participate in three valuable days of preparation and performance. Not only did students learn the music that they sang on Saturday, but they also learned musical techniques and how to tell a story through a song.
The choirs performed in a powerful concert full of an array of songs ranging from mighty gospel to joyful Latin.
During the Senior High concert, senior D’Quarte Rivers and junior Brynlee Seay were recognized for being in the choir for five years. Many other students also received certificates for three or four years of participation in the choir.
This weekend was very successful for the Dyersburg Middle and High School choirs, and students are excited to participate in the years to come!
