On Tuesday night, January 20, the Lady Trojans and Trojans basketball teams played at-home district games. Both teams dominated on the court, defeating the opponents, the Obion County Central Rebels.

The Lady Trojans maintained energy in all areas of the court throughout the whole game. Defense was held strong as Senior Aerie Quinn was sure to keep the ball from moving too far south on the court. Junior Kaykay Strayhorn was also a strong hold on the Lady Trojans' defense, as she turned over the ball several times throughout the game, ensuring an effective offensive stand.

At halftime, the DHS dance team performed its award-winning gameday routine, which it plans to showcase at nationals in Orlando, Florida, in the next few weeks. To follow the dance team, the DHS cheer team, and the junior Trojans cheer performed an exciting routine to Cotton-Eyed Joe. At last, the Trojan Steppers took the court as the last to entertain the fans.

Starting back up for the second half of the game, the Lady Trojans continued a strong lead. Seniors Chelby Jordan and D’Zya Currie were offensive strongsuits throughout the majority of the game. At the buzzer, the Lady Trojans won by a significant 79-30.

Following the Lady Trojans victory, the Trojans basketball team began their game. As the Rebels are fierce competition, the Trojans were up and down the court throughout the whole game. Following each other in score, both teams maintained good stamina. However, the Trojans' offensive plays were through and through successful. Defense also maintained its strength. By the end of the game, the score was tight, but with tactical moves made by players on the court, the Trojans were able to come out with a 57-55 win.

With both the Lady Trojans and Trojans basketball teams winning the games against the Obion County Central Rebels, both teams remain undefeated in 3A District 13, placing them first.

Both teams will make the trip to South Gibson County to play against the Hornets on Thursday, January 22.
