Being a Tennessee Volunteer is more than just embodying the role; it is also dressing the part. Every Saturday, the University of Tennessee Football team has a game, where everyone shows their Vol spirit in their own way.

Depending on the game, there is a specific color theme. Some games are the classic checkerboard theme, where, depending on the seat section of a fan it determines what color they dress in. Other games are all orange, white or black.

   On October 11, 2025, the Tennessee football team played the University of Arkansas. The theme for this game was orange out. At the game, people wore many variations of orange, combined jeans with a Tennessee shirt or even a cute skirt with a cohesive top. 

   The checkerboard pattern is extremely popular in the Vol world. Many fans are familiar with the popular game outfit, “Volveralls.” These are the orange and white checkered overalls fans confidently wear when walking across campus or in the stadium.

   When it comes down to accessorizing for the games, women must adhere to the clear bag policy. As a result, many women carry around a clear purse with a cute orange and white beaded strap. Fans also accessorize with buttons that may have game-day slogans or a favorite player number. Ball caps are also a common accessory that all fans tend to wear.

   It is always fun to see the different ways Vol fans express their spirit on gamedays with their different outfits. This coming weekend is the next Tennessee Vols football game against Alabama. The game will be orange out, so be sure to be on the lookout for some Vol gameday outfits.
