On Monday, August 25, the Lady Trojans soccer team continued their 2025 season with a notable 5-1 victory over the Brighton Cardinals.
Both teams had strong defense throughout the first half. Goalkeeper GraceAnn Webb held down the goal, preventing the Cardinals from scoring any points in the first half.
With the beginning of the second half and a score of 0-0, both teams were feeling the pressure to score. Sophomore Haddy Manneh took the initiative, putting the Lady Trojans in the lead with a score of 1-0. The Brighton Cardinals continued to challenge the Lady Trojans, but they were unable to stop senior Kathleen Harrell when she scored a second goal. The Cardinals were quick to respond, scoring their first goal less than a minute later.
Tensions soared as both teams demonstrated their drive to win the match. Manneh led the offense into their victory by scoring three consecutive goals for the Lady Trojans and securing her hat-trick for the match. The Lady Trojans held down their lead of 5-1 for the remainder of the match, earning another victory for their 2025 season.
