The Saturday night 3A district game fueled the heated rivalry between Dyersburg High School and Crockett County High School. From the first whistle, DHS maintained their strong defense tactics along with the continuous momentum, helping them score 33 points in the first half. As the game progressed, tensions rose, and loud interferences from the crowd occurred in the final quarter, including a woman being removed from the gym. The DHS Trojans remained unfazed as they continued to score. Their determination allowed them to score 66 points against Crockett’s 51, earning a spot in the next round of district competition, which will be played Tuesday at 7:30 at South Gibson High School.
