This week’s staff member of the week is Coach Zach Parker. Coach Parker has been teaching in Dyersburg City schools for three years, with this being his second year at DHS. His first year of teaching was at DMS. Along with teaching math at DHS, Coach Parker is the head football coach at DMS.

“ My favorite part of working at DHS is the tradition of excellence here. In West Tennessee, DHS has been one of the best high schools around, and being a part of that means something to me”

Coach Parker wanted to get into teaching math in order to afflict change into students' lives in something that students don’t usually find fun or enjoyable.

“ I always heard horror stories from my friends about their math teachers and how terrible they were and that encouraged me. If I can make my students' lives any more enjoyable than they are then that means a lot. I also hear lots of funny stories from my students that lift my day up and give me something to tell my friends.”
