On‌ ‌October‌ ‌22,‌ ‌2020,‌ ‌DHS‌ ‌held‌ ‌its‌ ‌annual‌ ‌football‌ ‌senior‌ ‌night‌ ‌and‌ ‌announced‌ ‌the‌ ‌ football‌ ‌homecoming‌ ‌court.‌ ‌Under‌ ‌the‌ ‌Friday‌ ‌night‌ ‌lights,‌ ‌this‌ ‌home‌ ‌game‌ ‌was‌ ‌ crammed‌ ‌with‌ ‌recognizing‌ ‌graduating‌ ‌cheerleaders,‌ ‌dance‌ ‌team‌ ‌members,‌ ‌band‌ ‌ members‌ ‌and‌ ‌football‌ ‌players.‌ ‌Soon‌ ‌after,‌ ‌the‌ ‌student-body-elected‌ ‌Football‌ ‌ Homecoming‌ ‌Queen‌ ‌and‌ ‌maids‌ ‌were‌ ‌revealed.‌ ‌ ‌Before‌ ‌kickoff,‌ ‌senior‌ ‌students‌ ‌walked‌ ‌across‌ ‌the‌ ‌turf‌ ‌with‌ ‌their‌ ‌parents‌ ‌as‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌ recognized‌ ‌for‌ ‌their‌ ‌high school‌ ‌achievements.‌ ‌While‌ ‌many‌ ‌were‌ ‌recognized,‌ ‌a‌ ‌few‌ ‌ pieces‌ ‌to‌ ‌each‌ ‌puzzle‌ ‌were‌ ‌not‌ ‌able‌ ‌to‌ ‌appear‌ ‌on‌ ‌their‌ ‌senior‌ ‌night‌ ‌due‌ ‌to‌ ‌being‌ ‌ quarantined.‌ ‌Though‌ ‌not‌ ‌there‌ ‌physically,‌ ‌the‌ ‌absent‌ ‌seniors‌ ‌were‌ ‌still‌ ‌recognized‌ ‌for‌ ‌ their‌ ‌efforts.‌ ‌ ‌The‌ ‌Trojan‌ ‌Football‌ ‌team‌ ‌entertained‌ ‌two-quarters‌ ‌of‌ ‌game‌ ‌time‌ ‌against‌ ‌Liberty,‌ ‌ heading‌ ‌into‌ ‌halftime‌ ‌with‌ ‌a‌ ‌score‌ ‌of‌ ‌20-0.‌ ‌During‌ ‌halftime,‌ ‌girls‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌homecoming‌ ‌

court‌ ‌were‌ ‌escorted‌ ‌by‌ ‌their‌ ‌fathers‌ ‌as‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌acknowledged‌ ‌for‌ ‌their‌ ‌active‌ ‌ presence‌ ‌at‌ ‌DHS‌ ‌and‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌community.‌ ‌Once‌ ‌complete,‌ ‌the‌ ‌Football‌ ‌Homecoming‌ ‌ Queen‌ ‌and‌ ‌her‌ ‌maids‌ ‌were‌ ‌announced.‌ ‌The‌ ‌royalty‌ ‌is‌ ‌as‌ ‌follows:‌ ‌sophomore‌ ‌Caroline‌ ‌ Dedmon‌‌ ‌‌-‌ ‌3rd‌ ‌maid;‌ ‌junior‌ ‌Anna-Blair‌ ‌Jackson‌ ‌-‌ ‌2nd‌ ‌maid;‌ ‌senior‌ ‌Ashleigh‌ ‌Harris‌ ‌-‌ ‌1st‌ ‌ maid;‌ ‌senior‌ ‌Raegan‌ ‌Hamm‌ ‌-‌ ‌Homecoming‌ ‌Queen.‌ ‌ ‌Last‌ ‌Friday‌ ‌night’s‌ ‌event‌ ‌was‌ ‌the‌ ‌first‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌few‌ ‌celebrations‌ ‌that‌ ‌have‌ ‌been‌ ‌held‌ ‌ during‌ ‌the‌ ‌pandemic.‌ ‌After‌ ‌cancellations‌ ‌to‌ ‌several‌ ‌banquets,‌ ‌awards‌ ‌parties‌ ‌and‌ ‌ sports‌ ‌seasons,‌ ‌this‌ ‌opportunity‌ ‌not‌ ‌only‌ ‌celebrated‌ ‌the‌ ‌hard‌ ‌work‌ ‌that‌ ‌students‌ ‌have‌ ‌ put‌ ‌into‌ ‌their‌ ‌teams,‌ ‌but‌ ‌the‌ ‌dedication‌ ‌that‌ ‌faculty‌ ‌has‌ ‌put‌ ‌into‌ ‌maintaining‌ ‌a‌ ‌ semi-normal‌ ‌school‌ ‌year‌ ‌during‌ ‌this‌ ‌unnatural‌ ‌time‌ ‌period.‌ ‌
