When thinking of Abbey Road by the Beatles, many think of the notable tracks on the album like “Here Comes The Sun” or “Oh! Darling”, but what about the final bow they did with the album itself? It was their last project, a final testimony to their career as a band, a way to finally end what was only ripping them apart, something that was bringing them down, and something that has made a mark on what people think of when they hear the name “Beatles.”
Abbey Road itself as an album has become something for the books. From its album cover (the iconic crosswalk) and the songs that are still well-known and noticeable fifty-six years later, it has remained a solid piece of art within the music industry, with its solid reign in the charts of the Billboard 200 and Vinyl Albums.
Not only was Abbey Road their last album, but part of its significance comes from the time in which it was created. The album was made in a time when people wanted longer records and albums, and the fact that Abbey Road was released with seventeen different tracks just added to the popularity it acquired at the time of its release.
While it is true that Abbey Road has claimed its spot as one of the most iconic albums in the music industry, what exactly is its appeal?
One of the facts that brings Abbey Road’s popularity to the forefront is that it is a blend of many different diverse styles of music, from blues that appears on “Come Together” to the ballads of soul that is featured on the track “Oh! Darling.” The diverse styles featured in just this one album truly make it have something for everyone interested in listening.
