With Halloween creeping up, students at DHS have one big question to settle— what is the best candy out there? More than 200 students voted in a school-wide candy poll, and the results were pretty clear.
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups took first place, grabbing about 25% of the votes. Statistically, one in four people picked them as their go-to treat, which is not that surprising — chocolate and peanut butter never miss.
In second place was Twix, followed by M&M’s, Snickers, and Kit Kat, rounding out the top five. Even though they did not take the crown, these classics still get plenty of love.
For second and third place votes, the competition got tighter. Kit Kat, Twix, Snickers, and Hershey’s were all hanging around 12%, while Hershey’s ended up leading the third-place round at 12.7% with Butterfinger and M&M’s close behind.
The victor is clear: DHS loves chocolate. Sorry, Skittles and Starburst fans, but fruity and sour candies did not stand a chance this year. Chocolate, caramel, nougat, and peanut butter completely ruled Halloween.
If you are passing out candy this Halloween, you might want to take notes. Reese’s is the clear favorite, but having a few Twix or Kit Kats might make your house the top stop on the trick-or-treat route.
