Trojan's basketball defeats the Choctaws in a hometown showdown.

   On Friday night, the Trojans dominated the basketball court, with the Lady Trojans beating the Lady Choctaws 82 - 31 and the Dyersburg boys winning a very close game against the Choctaws 61 - 58

   Before the end of the half, the Lady Trojans were up 34 - 9 with Chelby Jordan scoring 17 points and Kathleen Harrel sinking a last-second three to end the half.

   The girls pulled away and secured the win at 82 - 31, with the top scorers being Chelby Jorden at 27 points and Aerie Quinn with 15 points. 

   The boys ended the first half hot, ahead 35 - 22 with Jayce Ellerbrooke scoring four important three-point shots, helping the Trojans lead.

   During the third quarter, the Choctaws came back and ended the quarter 45 - 45, but in the end, the Trojans pulled away and won the nerve-racking game 61 - 58.
