On Thursday, September 25, the DHS Girls’ Soccer Team competed against Obion County Central High School at JC Sawyers Stadium. In this competition, the girls demolished their opponents with a mercy rule. Additionally, a new school record was set on this day!

As the game began, athletes scrambled across the field trying to gain control of the ball. Shortly after, Haddy Manneh scored the first goal of the match. Through red cards and out-of-plays, Haddy continuously scored, eventually setting the score 5-0 by the end of the first half.

After half-time, our ladies returned ready to win. As the ball moved from one end of the field to the other, the scene eventually stabilized in DHS’s favor. Once again, Manneh scored an additional four goals. This triggered a mercy rule, ending the game prematurely. The Lady Trojans showed what it truly means to be a team and proved it with their victory. Additionally, Haddy Manneh set a new school record by scoring nine goals within one game.

DHS hopes that all soccer fans will return to support the DHS Girls’ Soccer team. On Saturday, September 27, the Lady Trojans will play against Madison Academic High School at the University of Memphis Lambuth Campus. They will also play against Crockett County High School at JC Sawyers Stadium on Monday, September 29.
